Meet the Instructor

Hi! I’m Kristin, and I’ve been teaching elementary art to children in grades K–5 for over 23 years. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with children of all ability levels, including students with special needs, and I truly believe that every child is an artist—they just need the right space, encouragement, and guidance to let it shine.

I’m also a mom to a spirited 5-year-old and a proud dog mom, so I understand firsthand how children learn best: through curiosity, play, movement, and joy. My teaching style is nurturing, flexible, and confidence-building—designed to help kids feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and celebrate their creativity.

My own love of art started early. As a child, I was so inspired to create that I famously colored on my mom’s couches and lampshades—I loved seeing my art light up! That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for helping children express themselves through art in meaningful (and furniture-safe!) ways.

Today, I bring decades of classroom experience, a deep understanding of child development, and a whole lot of heart into every lesson. My goal is for your child to not only create beautiful art, but to feel proud, capable, and excited every time they sit down to make something.

✨ Art is about more than the final piece—it’s about confidence, imagination, and joy.
